Admission Policy

AMO reserves the right to review all applications to assess suitability for participation in the AMO University™ Practice Development Seminar. At AMO's sole discretion, admission or attendance may be refused.

Who Should Attend?

The AMO University Practice Development Seminar is designed to help eyecare professionals implement marketing strategies, infrastructure design, and staff training processes. The curriculum is taught from a management perspective, and is therefore most suitable for the decision makers who are ultimately responsible for marketing and practice growth.

Some topics are covered in depth, and therefore might be helpful for administrative, technical, and clinical support staff. However, most of the content is designed to provide physicians, practice managers, marketing managers, and refractive coordinators with the tools needed to direct their support staff in implementing effective consumer marketing, information management, and patient education techniques.

The seminar is particularly useful for those who:

  • Have just purchased either a VISX® Excimer Technology Laser System or an IntraLase™ Technology FS Laser System for their own practice
  • Have just begun to use one of AMO's lasers at an "open-access" laser center or has access to a "roll-on/roll-off" laser system
  • Have recently began implanting AMO's ReZoom™ IOLs
  • Currently manage an open-access center and wish to attract more users
  • Wish to co-manage a substantial number of laser vision correction patients with an experienced laser refractive surgeon
